Upcoming Meeting of Defence Veterans Association Inc. & Progress Report

General Meeting of the Defence Veterans Association Inc. 10.00am Saturday 6th September 2008. To be held at the Redlands RSL Veterans Community Centre, 1-11 Passage St Cleveland.

We encourage attendance and look forward to a productive and enlightened meeting. We would appreciate it if you bring along a few items of I.D with you on the day. This will assist us in setting up of membership entitlements, Original Service / Discharge Certificate and photographic identification is required thank you.
 
I begin by extending my thanks to all involved thus far in the evolution of our organization. Following is a brief account as to progress thus far of Defence Veterans Association Inc.

 Selection of Association name and subsequent slogan, “Your Duty Is Done, Ours Has Just Begun”.
 Incorporation of Association and acquisition of ABN.
 Registration of domain name and initial set up of web-site www.dva.org.au
 Set up of bank account at Heritage Building Society in Cleveland.
 Relocation to a larger office within the Redlands RSL Veterans Community Centre.
 Numerous meetings with organizations, departments and supporters from the community.
 Identification of numerous grants applicable to our association.
 Fund raising and acquisition of funding via the Redlands RSL, Redland City Council and the Redlands Vietnam Veterans Group to assist initial set up.
 Set up of Membership benefits and initiatives.

The list continues so I will save a little for the meeting and save you the energy now. Until then we encourage one and all to check out the web-site. We welcome ideas as it is a work in progress, so all input is usually appreciated…Yours truly
